Richard Wiseman, Frank Furdy and Nick Marx claim from different perspectives that self-help can play a role in making our nation happier and questioning whether it is part of the problem.

Richard Wiseman is a professor at the University of Hartford, and his research focus is related to unusual areas of psychology. He is the author of several books, including Quirkology, 59 Seconds, and The Luck Factor.
Frank Furdy is a professor of sociology at the University of Kent and an author of culture of therapy, paranoid education, and the culture of fear.
Nick Marx is a researcher of "Well-being" and he founded the Center for Well-being at the New Economy Foundation,
