This presentation will provide three unique perspectives on the challenges of aging.
Mr Pike will outline some of the most common problems with the disappearance of disabled young people in the system. This will include information on education / continuing education, employment, Medicaid, social benefits and the successful management of the system of access and use of resources.
Mr Foster will highlight the resources available and share how he addresses the challenges of transitioning young people.
Mr Smith will discuss the challenges of emancipating youth from a youth perspective. He will discuss how to negotiate the sophisticated systems involved in aging. Mr. Smith will discuss transitional issues related to moving from one system to another, the "gap" (lack of services in the behavioral health system aged 14-23), problems and practical solutions and how to make mental health systems more friendly to young people in transition.
