Located in the rural and economically challenged region of Southern Colorado, the VEGI initiative has grown into a multilateral program over the last 20 years. VEGI works with schools and municipal programs in the San Luis Valley to cope with the root causes of hunger and food insecurity by cultivating a link with nourishing foods from the soil!
VEGI provides garden and nutrition training for over 1,500 young people every year and grows thousands of pounds of fresh products for the benefit of society. Year-round gardening, educational opportunities and free resources help people accumulate nutrients in their own yards and communities!
