Even without a good rating Abi, you have a good chance in Hamburg to place a medical study. However, you have to dig deep into your pocket.
Hamburg. In the winter semester in Hamburg will begin a new study of human medicine. 150 students can take advantage of the Romanian Neumarkt University Hospital at Mieresch in Hamburg (UMCH) if they successfully pass a selection interview.
"To study at UMCH, the personality is more important than the numerus of the clausus," says Professor Jobst Nitsch, medical director of UMCH. However, at the request of "Ärzte Zeitung" there was a small limitation: the application documentation must have a qualification for enrollment at the university with a score of 3.0 or better.
Costs up to 165,000 euros
In addition to a written request, UMCH relies on an English-language interview, which, for example, questions the applicant's personal motivation and his attitude towards the medical profession.
The provider is advertised in small groups and at the newly opened campus in Hanzeat city. Although the spin-off in Hamburg is new, the University of Transylvania has existed since 1945 and, according to its own information, it is the largest in Romania. There are about 11,000 students enrolled in medicine, pharmacy, science and technology.
Medical studies can be continued after the first two years of study in Hamburg, either in Germany or in Romania. This decision affects the price: the German option costs 165,500 euros for a full six years, including fees. If you decide to pursue parts of a third-year clinical study in Romania, the total cost is 77,500 euros. If the six-year study ends exclusively in Romania, it costs 39.500 euros.
More educational clinics are planned
Formerly established hospitals in Germany were the Protestant Hospital Mettmann and Deaconess Hospital Speyer. According to the allegations of the supervisory agency, further training hospitals are planned. Each academic year comprises 28 teaching weeks (14 per semester).
Lectures and seminars from the pre-clinical part of the study are given in English at the University Campus in Hamburg as they would like to improve the international approach and the chance of graduates. The first interviews were held a few days ago. The second option is available from 22 to 24 August. Conversations can also be held from 26 to 28 August via video. (Di)
