Fat has long been harmful as an unhealthy fad and many people continue to remove fatty foods from their diet to lose weight.
Some people are not aware that fats are not just fats. There are big differences between types of fats and it's not a good idea to drop all fatty foods from your diet.
Fats are important
The American doctor and bestselling author of The New York Times warns against widespread misconceptions that fats are bad. Mark Hyman, on his Instagram account.
He explains the widespread myths about healthy eating. In one of his actions, an expert explains why healthy fats are so important.
A low-fat diet may sound healthy at first, but if you look behind the facade, this is not the case at all. "You are stepping into the sugary and highly refined carbohydrate diet," says Hyman.
Those who abstain from healthy fats and eat too much sugar and carbohydrates instead favor the inflammation associated with a range of health problems.
"This type of diet contributes greatly to the epidemic of insulin resistance, obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and many other serious diseases," the expert explains.
"Instead of demonizing fats, refined sugars and carbohydrates that break down into sugar, as well as flammable omega-6 fats, must be restricted."
Put on healthy fats and oils
Which should instead be on the menu: Lots of omega-3 fats and MCTs like coconut oil. They can help you lose weight and support your health and vitality.
Fat consumption obviously depends on quality, not quantity.
"Consuming many natural, healthy, fat-based foods, including saturated fats, is crucial to good health," explains Hyman.
"You shouldn't be afraid of fats and oils – they make your food taste better, have many nutritional benefits, fill you up and help you lose weight."
Absorption of fat soluble substances
If you work without fat, you will not lose weight faster. It's probably the other way around and all of a sudden, more pounds are added on the hips.
As part of a healthy diet, good fats should therefore not be missed. Because the second point is crucial:
Fat-soluble fats (A, D, E and K) as well as other substances, such as turmeric contained in turmeric, can be properly absorbed and processed by the body in combination with fat.
Muscle Growth Fats
And they are also necessary to build muscle fat. Particularly important: omega-3 fats. Not only are they important for reducing body fat, they also help you with bigger muscles.
- Saturated fats promote the production of testosterone the strongest of all fats.
- Omega-3 helps in muscle regeneration and thus promotes growth.
- This makes the muscle cells more receptive to insulin; body fat buildup is difficult – even with excess calories.
- Even with a low carbohydrate diet (low insulin levels), muscles effectively take in amino acids.
- It has an anti-inflammatory effect and thus prevents excessive strain or injury.
- Strengthens the cardiovascular system.
This will get your fat
The type of fat you eat in the end is so much more important than the amount you eat. Therefore, you should extract most of the absorbed fat from these foods:
- Organic meat and fish
- Organic poultry and eggs
- Durable dairy products
- Nuts, ground flax seeds
- virgin olive, coconut and flaxseed oil
According to the expert, you should avoid refined vegetable oils and too much omega-6 fats, all of which can greatly contribute to inflammation and chronic diseases.
Therefore, it is best to avoid industrially produced food and cook fresh. That's how you always know, with what you supply with your body and taste delicious, it works!
