The "Like the Empress" event on Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21 is aimed at all fashion-conscious ladies and should be a mix of TV programs "Shopping Queen" and "German Next Top Model," W + F organizers announce.
"We knew we were going to make an accompanying event for women," says board member Thomas Wartner, referring to the Kaiser event, which attracted many visitors to Kaiserstraße in early April, despite winter temperatures. The Waldshut pedestrian site is also the namesake of two events, stemming from the idea of Think Tank, a group of predominantly young W + F members.
15 meter long runway in Kaiserstraße
"Women deserve attention. They need more stage, "says Wartner. For this reason, unlike the male format," As Empress "will have a 15-meter runway at Kaiserstraße. Six candidates will then be presented to the jury and spectators at noon on Saturday. W + F to choose from all candidates before Waldshut's first Shopping Empress will be crowned with three finalists in the evening.
"It is important for us that the experts sit on the jury," says Waldshut's businesswoman and W + F member Renate Halter. So, in addition to shopping emperor Robin Kissel, the winner will be selected by fashion and fashion expert Marlise Brogli from Rheinfelden / Switzerland, as well as Munich hairdresser Tim Mathé. "He is really looking forward to his home country and has even canceled another job for our event," says Waldshuter marketing expert and organizer Oliver Novak about Tim Mathé, who grew up in the region.
Unlike April's Kaiser, applicants must pay a registration fee of 50 euros. "But they have a lot to offer," says Renate Halter, listing what the six candidates expect: a visit to a hairdresser, makeup artist makeup, catwalk training and a professional photoshop.
Six candidates receive clothing from the W + F runway stores, which they must return. On the other hand, the three finalists are given a € 500 voucher that they can use for renovation at three Waldshuter clothing stores. You can keep the new wardrobe for later.
The winner also receives a $ 100 voucher
The winner of the competition can also receive the title "Waldshuter Shopping Empress" and can accept a further $ 100 coupon, redeemable at all W + F member stores, as well as a book prize. Anyone who does not stay in Waldshut because of the "Like the Empress" event can watch the event on the Internet. "We'll be recording everything and posting stories on social networks," announces Waldshut graphic designer and co-organizer Anna-Klara Wagner.
The event will provide six food trucks and a bar, which will be musically entertained by regional band "The Vertical Horizon" and DJ Base-T from Titisee-Neustadt. "On Saturday, many stores will be open until 8pm," says Thomas Wartner.
