Thirty-five people received blood on Monday, and another 35 next week. Laboratory tests seek to document the health status of Schwoicher before and after the planned commissioning of the Schwoich landfill.
SCHWOICH (bfl). As early as August, representatives of the Schwoich Citizens' Initiative announced that they would be offering blood samples and laboratory tests for Schwoicher with a doctor. On Monday, October 7, the first Schwoicher began taking blood samples. The blood of 35 people was taken and about 35 more Schwoicher blood will be released next week.
A sign of protest
When the measure is launched, the citizens' initiative wants to regularly investigate possible heavy metal pollution. This is another sign of protest against the planned demolition site at the Schwoich Quarry – Bezirksblätter reported.
The asbestos waiver announced by Rohrdorfer Director Mike Edelmann in August is not enough for members of the Schwoich Citizens' Initiative. They fear further health consequences of possible heavy metal contamination. Even without asbestos, potentially carcinogenic and otherwise pathogenic substances can pose a threat to residents.
Scheduled repeated blood tests
With the help of repeated blood samples from Dr. Med. Sunhild Hofreiter-Schütte should now only raise baselines once. Each year, new blood tests and lab tests are conducted according to the citizens' initiative plan. This would allow checking whether there was a change in the concentration of heavy metals in Schwoicher's blood during the landfill operation.
