Holistic massage is an ancient method of treatment that cleanses the lymphatic drainage system and removes toxins from the body. Recognizing that illness and anxiety affect not only our physical well-being but also our emotional, spiritual and mental well-being, a holistic massage allows you to achieve the body's natural healing powers and to balance the whole body as a whole.
What is holistic? Massage?
Holistic massage techniques have been used for millennia in Egypt, China and India. Ayurveda, an ancient Indian healing system, uses the therapeutic benefits of massage in combination with herbal extracts, spices and aromatic oils.
There are four main massage techniques used in holistic massage. Effleurage includes relaxation movements. Petrissage is a technique similar to fermentation. The upholstery includes timbering and piracy. and vibration movements are created with the fingers (see Resources).
The concept of "holistic"
The term "holistic" comes from the ancient Greek word "holos", which means "whole". By definition, holistic massage treats the whole body as a unit (see Resources).
For a holistic massage, it is important to remember that only the muscle should be massaged. The masseur should not chew directly on any bone area as this may cause discomfort or damage to the recipient. If you have recently undergone surgery, consult your doctor before receiving a massage (see Resources).
Holistic massage can lead to better blood circulation, less body tension and deeper breathing, providing oxygen to the whole body. There are also many emotional and spiritual benefits through holistic massage (see Resources).
