The current method of raw food production is largely a response to the growth of the fast food industry since the 1950s. Food production in general has changed more dramatically since that time than it did several thousand years ago. Controlled mainly by a handful of multinational corporations, the global food business – with a focus on business – aims to produce large quantities of food at low direct resources (most often subsidized) for unwritten purposes, leading to huge profits, which in turn leads to to greater control over the global supply of food sources within these several companies. Health and safety (of the food itself, of animals produced by themselves, of assembly line workers and of consumers who actually eat food) are often overlooked by companies and often overlooked by the government in their quest to provide cheap food, regardless of these negative consequences …
