Because instead of falling into the tired feeling of fullness after eating meat, you automatically feel good after a vegan lunch.
Back to the flexi-vegan diet. The credo is: half vegan, half "normal". The manner in which the division was made is not clearly defined. For example, a common lifestyle for flexi-vegans is that they tend to eat vegans during the week and pay less attention on weekends. Others, however, choose to cook exclusively vegan at home and from time to time order a meat or fish meal. Therefore, a short-term vegan diet is perfect for those who still want to grind Parmesan over pasta or enjoy milk coffee in between. However, the body can benefit from a vegan diet for the rest of the day and automatically reduce its ecological footprint.
So important is the flexi-vegan diet for the environment and the body
To explain the relationship between sustainable environmental impact and nutrition, Oxford University conducted a representative study. "Our research shows that we need a nutrition change strategy that focuses primarily on plant-based nutrition," said Marco Springmann, study leader. If everyone switched to a vegan diet in 2019, greenhouse gases from agriculture would be cut by more than half. This is mainly due to the huge nitrogen and phosphorus inputs that result from food production.
