It appears that the Honorable Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, is looking after the welfare of his children. The Ugandan lawmaker, despite his tight schedule as a presidential candidate, is taking time for the family, including coaching his son in boxing.

In a video he shared on his social media platforms, lawmaker Bobi Wine is seen taking his son, Solomon Kampala, through boxing drills. Kampala, named after the Ugandan capital, appeared to be on top of his boxing exercise, a sign that the young man was due to receive lessons from the Ghetto Gladiator and who knows he could be a boxing champion in the making.

The publication comes shortly after the two entered the competition on the sidelines of Kabaka Mwenda Mutebi’s birthday, an event hosted by the Buganda Kingdom. Bobi Wine grew up in the ghettos of Kamwokya. Apart from music, the other skills he honed during his time in the ghetto was boxing.

Bobi Wine has often shown his boxing skills and this is nothing new to many people who know and follow him. There was a time in 2008 when lawmaker Bobi Wine entered an exhibition bout in a super lightweight competition. At the time, he said he was not going to the ring to become the next world champion, but to give boxing a new image and show the world that you can be successful in sport.

It’s not only Bobi Wine and his son Kampala who have a penchant for boxing, his wife Barbie Tungu is also an avid practitioner. At one point, in a video posted on social media, Barbie Tungu was seen throwing punches, still under instructions from her husband, Bobi Wine.

At this point, we don’t know what might happen to the Ugandans once Bobi Wine becomes President. Who knows, maybe boxing could become a compulsory skill for everyone.
