In cities, noise pollution is sometimes as important as atmospheric pollution. In transport, in the street, everyone tries to protect themselves as best they can from outside noise. Even more today, we need to find clear atmospheres, to return to a better quality of acoustic environment to reduce stress and feel better. In this, headphones can help us. Thanks to their on-board ambient noise reduction technology, you can now benefit from quality equipment to stay both focused and relaxed, whether you are on a professional mobility situation, in a public co-working space or even teleworking from home.

Acoustic comfort, an efficiency issue

According to an Ipsos study (*) commissioned by EPOS, 79% of business leaders agree that quality audio equipment, such as headsets, headsets and speakerphones, has a significant impact on our ability to concentrate and our general state of well-being. A phenomenon amplified by the increase in work from home, which forces employees to spend more time on the phone or in virtual meetings behind their screens. According to Jared Spataro, corporate vice president of Microsoft 365, “remote meeting times via Microsoft Teams reached a record 2.7 billion minutes worldwide as of March 31, 2020 in a single day.” However, not all employees necessarily benefit from good audio equipment at home or on the move.

The right sound at the heart of well-being

According to the results of the EPOS survey (*), nearly half of users (44%) complain of poor audio quality in telephone conversations and 39% when it comes to calls via the Internet . Better still, a large majority of business executives (79%) consider that high-performance audio equipment is, like a pleasant overall environment, a determining factor of our well-being in professional relationships. Conversely, poor acoustic conditions can have adverse effects on personal well-being and generate a lot of tension and fatigue. Thus, according to the same survey, more than one in three respondents (35%) would develop feelings of frustration and irritation because of an unpleasant sound environment. “More worryingly, a quarter of those surveyed feel stress and 15% of them feel less confident for the same reasons,” the study recalls. Nuisances whose consequences go beyond the strict professional context and affect the quality of everyone’s life.

Audio solutions that adapt to all environments

In the office, headsets need to strike the right balance between actual audio performance and ease of use. An ergonomic advantage both technologically and practically. As for the headsets themselves, they are equipped with the function of adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) which allows, thanks to four integrated microphones, to analyze the working environment and to measure unwanted background noise in order to adjust the noise reduction level according to the ambient noise level. Technical specifications perfectly suited to outdoor use, such as in transport or in a public place. In a work or leisure context, if the helmet must always be efficient, it must also remain light, practical and pleasant to wear. It remains to choose the one that suits best among an innovative range of models according to their needs and their lifestyle (**). History of combining efficiency and well-being.
