Indeed, to be able to electrify a vehicle, it is necessary to extract the heat engine, the tank and the exhaust of a diesel or petrol car to replace them by an electric motor, batteries and a plug for recharging. Modifications that cannot be done without a new certification process, hitherto tedious and expensive, to ensure the safety of the new machine.

For the moment, companies must obtain approvals for each vehicle transformed. With the new measure, they will be able to obtain them for the transformation of all cars from the same model, details 20 Minutes.
